Year-End & Compliance FAQs
Do I need to do anything before my year-end?
Not much! We’ll let you know what records or information we need based on your business type. It’s great if you’ve kept things organised from the outset. If not, we’ll help you pull together what’s missing.
What’s included in “year-end accounts”?
This depends on your setup. For limited companies, it includes annual accounts, Corporation Tax returns, and Companies House filing. Sole traders and partnerships usually need an end-of-year income and expenses summary, and a self-assessment return.
I’ve left everything until the last minute: is it too late?
If your deadline is approaching, let us know right away. We’ll work with you to prioritise and make sure key filings are handled properly (even if we need to request an extension).
Can you help if I’ve had a fine or penalty?
Yes. If you’ve missed a deadline or received a penalty, we’ll look at your options, whether that’s appealing, negotiating, or getting everything back on track to avoid further issues.
I’m not confident my old accountant explained things properly - can you review past accounts?
We’re happy to take a look at previous filings and let you know if anything stands out or needs correcting going forward.
Do I need accounting software to use this service?
No. You can keep your records in a spreadsheet (or even on paper, if that’s where you’re at). We’ll handle the rest, including using compliant software to file everything properly with HMRC. If you ever want to switch to accounting software, we can help with that too but it’s not a requirement.

Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) Payroll Support
If you pay subcontractors for construction work or have spent a significant amount on building services, you may need to register as a CIS contractor, but keeping up with the rules can be confusing.

Monthly PAYE/NIC payments
Due by the 22nd of each month (if paying electronically)
P60 Forms
Must be issued to employees by 19th May (annually)
P11D and P11D(b)
The deadline for submission is 6th July (annually)
